When complexity slows down creativity

Autodesk VRED has long been an indispensable tool for 3D visualizations, not only in the automotive sector. It enables the creation of precise, photorealistic scenes for compelling presentations and renderings, whether for internal reviews and discussions or marketing materials. But anyone who works with VRED on a regular basis is also familiar with the program's complexity. In particular, the careful structuring of scenes takes time and attention, which can occasionally slow down the creative process.

You start by building the scene, placing geometries, adding environments and lights to perfect the mood. But as soon as you want to try out a new camera angle or lighting, the organizational part begins. To ensure that the new perspective can be reproduced, geometries must be saved, materials adjusted, lights newly set, and everything manually organized into variant sets.

Variant set management is essential for structured and reproducible work, but the current process can make things somewhat slower. A fair amount of time is spent on organizational and technical tasks, leaving less time for the actual work of designer, photographers and visual artists - creative design.

We've changed that with Creative Stage!

More space for creative work

To tap the full potential of visualization, the work process must become more intuitive, faster, and more efficient. A solution is needed that enables undisturbed, agile work without neglecting the necessary organization. The focus must be on artistic development, and technology should support this rather than hinder it.

The Creative Stage plugin offers automation where variant sets reach their limits and takes over complex organizational tasks. Spontaneous and exploratory work is possible without losing structure or reproducibility.

Creative Stage - The plugin for VRED

Creative Stage captures all parameters of a scene, saves them as “snapshots” and allows you to restore desired states at any time. Everything remains flexible and transparent. The selection and control of tracked parameters, as well as tools for organizing, sorting, and filtering the saved content, can be configured specifically. And all this within the familiar VRED interface design to keep access intuitive.

Snapshots - Capture everything with just one click

The central component of the plugin are the so-called snapshots. With just one click, the state of the scene is saved, including the full range of selected parameters:

  • Transformations – vehicle positions, wheel rotations, etc.

  • Materials – including all parameters and assignments

  • Light setups – activation/deactivation, intensity, color

  • Environment settings – HDRIs, scene plates, and more

  • Switches – materials, lights, environments, etc.

  • Render settings

A “Tracked Nodes” interface allows you to select which elements should be tracked, ensuring the smallest possible data volume and good performance. These snapshots form the basis for variant sets, which can be automatically generated from the saved information.

Simple organization with a system

Even with the best automation, a clear structure is necessary and helpful. The organization within Creative Stage is designed to be particularly simple and clear. With features such as:

  • Grouping of snapshots

  • Favorites management

  • Colored labels for categorization and filtering

it is easy to always maintain an overview. No matter how many camera angles, lighting moods, or material variants you work with, every element remains accessible and logically structured.

Maximum creativity through minimal distraction

Creative Stage is a plugin that gives VRED exactly what it was missing: a balance between necessary technical organization and artistic freedom. Thanks to its similarity to the familiar VRED interface design, it is immediately intuitive to use.

This tool allows you to get started right away, experiment, and make creative decisions, without constantly having to interrupt and save the process. A plugin that takes care of organization, promotes creativity, and significantly speeds up the design process.

Creative Stage turns a technically dominated workflow back into a creative process.
